As guardians of our infrastructure, the backend team designs, builds, and maintains the systems and services that power Popsa. They provide domain expertise in API design, security, and infrastructure, helping turn ideas into fully realised features.

Front End Engineering

We believe in building our native mobile and web apps in-house for the best customer experience. Attention to detail is paramount at Popsa; this means smooth animations, optimised loading times, and features built to stand the test of time. Data Science

Our Data Science team is behind some of the most innovative, future-facing work at Popsa. They explore how AI can enhance our products and help users tell their stories better. How do I apply?

If you click on the Open roles link on our careers page, this will automatically take you to our recruitment platform, where you can apply directly to a relevant open role. All applications are screened by our people team and hiring managers. If you have any problems at all or don’t see a suitable opportunity for you but feel that you would be a great addition to our team, please contact us directly at careers@popsa.com

Can I apply for multiple roles?

You can apply for more than one role. Our system will automatically link your applications to show us that you have applied for more than one role. Do ensure your skills match the role outline you are applying for and that your application is tailored to each opportunity.  We do recommend, that if you have been unsuccessful with an application, to wait at least 12 months before reapplying for a similar role.

What do I need to provide for an application?

You will be asked to upload your up-to-date CV and can add a cover letter if you wish. For some roles we may ask you to provide supporting documents with your application, such as your portfolio for Creative applications, or a link to  GitHub for engineering roles.

What's the typical recruitment process and timeframe?

Please note this is a rough guide, certain roles may have more or less stages depending on the nature of the opportunity.

Typically, you can expect a process to take around 2-4 weeks. We don’t like to dawdle ad appreciate your time is precious, but it is important for us to get to know you, your skills and experience and as importantly, for you to get to know us, meet the team and get a true sense of our culture and the work we do.

·   1st round intro video call with People team or Hiring Manager

·   2nd round technical interview with Hiring Manager plus a team member

·   3rd round In-office, task-based presentation/exercise, interview with senior leadership

Do Popsa offer visa sponsorship?

We are currently able to offer sponsorship for specific roles eligible under a Skilled Worker visa. If you are unsure as to whether you are eligible to apply, please email careers@popsa.com and we can advise you.

What is the dress code for interviews?

We are definitely a team more on the casual end of the spectrum in the office. For an interview we suggest smart casual.

How long will it be before I receive feedback on my application?

We aim to get back to everyone at each stage. At the application and intro chat stages this will be via email. Unfortunately, if you are unsuccessful at this stage we cannot provide specific feedback due to the volumes of applications we receive but we will come back to you. Again, a timeline is difficult to commit to as we review each application individually and consider carefully every candidate, but we do aim to come back to you within two weeks.

If you are successful in the technical interview, we will get back to you via email and if unsuccessful can share some feedback and suggestions for future interviews.

How should I prepare for a Popsa interview?

We always recommend downloading the Popsa app. Have a play around and think about your feedback and ideas. Review the job specification and consider our values and principles, applying your own skills and experiences and thinking about specific examples you can share that demonstrate alignment. Come prepared with your questions to find out more about who we are. We will let you know who you are speaking to/meeting in advance, do look them up on LinkedIn.

What training and development opportunities are available?

We understand that each role/function/level/individual has different training and development needs. We offer technical training that is required for roles and to keep our knowledge and skills fresh. We attend key conferences and networking events within our industry and technical specialisms. We also offer more tailored development support for leadership, manager and individual requirements and we hold lunch and learns so we can hear from both internal and external subject matter experts on key topics.
