History and grandeur go hand-in-hand here, where timeless architecture, romantic backdrops and cultural resonance draw millions of camera lenses each year. Religious landmarks such as St Peter’s Basilica and Sagrada Família appear alongside ancient wonders including the Acropolis and Pompeii, highlighting our enduring fascination with past civilisations.

The list also reveals our love of new icons and immersive experiences – places like Disney World, Harry Potter Studios and Tokyo’s teamLab Planets speak to a new era of share-worthy attractions designed for awe (and social media).
