The types of Popsa Memories: Rewinds, Journeys & more

Open the Popsa app and you’ll see that there are different types of Popsa Memories to explore. Each one transforms your photos into organised albums you can revisit, share or print in minutes. In this guide we’ll explore what each type is made up of and how they help you to process your life story.

Rewinds

In simple terms, Popsa Rewinds are curated snapshots of a period in your life. The shortest is a Monthly Rewind and the longest is an Annual Rewind.

Memories creates a Rewind by analysing all the photos you take within a given timeframe. It selects the most aesthetically pleasing and meaningful moments – whether that’s people, pets or standout scenes – and turns them into a beautifully curated album in the Popsa app.

Looking back helps us make sense of moving forwards. Rewinds are designed for reflection: a way to revisit the highs, lows and everything in between. Maybe you’re curious to be reminded of what life looked like in February 2020, just before the pandemic. Or perhaps you’ve welcomed a new baby and haven’t had time to sort through the thousands of photos you’ve taken. Rewinds ensures you never miss a thing. 

Journeys

Popsa Journeys capture the moments when you step outside your everyday world. This could be a day trip to the seaside or a year-long adventure across continents. Popsa Memories uses photo location data to understand your usual places – like home or work – and detects when you’re somewhere new. When you return to a familiar place and take another photo, your Journey is finished and a new album is created for you to look back on.

We often recall trips when a place is mentioned in conversation – someone says ‘Margate’ and suddenly you’re transported back to Dreamland. Journeys bring those experiences together, helping you reflect on the times you ventured beyond your routine. So no trip, big or small, is ever forgotten.
